Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide: Medali Gym

Medali Gym is a Normal type gym, so you will want to use Fighting type attacks.

Medali Gym - Preparation:

The recommended level for this gym is level 36. Make sure to train your Pokemon up well as Normal types don't have a lot of weaknesses.

Medali Gym - Location:

We will be starting from the west side of Zapapico. On the path you will see a trainer, she will have a level 35 Toxtricity (Electric/Poison type). Next grab the Exp Candy M next to the tree. Follow the path some more, picking up the Hyper Potion on the right before the fork in the road. At the fork, make a right, pick up the Super Potions on the right side, then keep going and battle the next trainer. He will have a level 36 Tauros. Next up the path some more is three Max Ethers on the left.

There is a tunnel, go inside and pick up the Rare Bone. Next, to the west there is a Hyper Potion. Now there is a trainer on the right with a level 38 Hariyama (Fighting type). Exit the passage, and you will see a Pokémon Center. Rest up if you need to. Head west into the tunnel again, pick up the Meditite Sweat then get out of the tunnel. You should now see a trainer on your right. He will have a level 38 Corviknight (Flying/Steel type). After that, there is another trainer on the left, he has a level 32 Mudsdale (Ground type).

Now follow the road all the way until you reach Medali.

Medali Gym - Gym Test:

Go to the gym and you will run into Nemona, then speak to the person at the desk. The Gym Test for this gym requires you to order the special secret menu item. You need to head to Treasure Eatery to place the order. You will be given a hint that there are 3 other people that are trying to solve the puzzle at the same time as you and that they have each been given a clue. You need to find each of those three people and beat them in a battle so they can give you the clue.

Head inside the restaurant and talk to the office worker in the black suit. He will tell you that the dish needs a squeeze of lemon. The three trainers are scattered around the town, and not in the restaurant.

The first one is located southwest along the street once you exit the restaurant. He is standing next to a bench with a child on it. He will have a level 34 Dunsparce (Normal type). He will give you the clue once you beat him, which is the blue bird Pokemon. This isn't the clue for the recipe! You need to find a man with a blue bird Pokemon on his head. He is located on the same street but a little bit back towards the restaurant. The clue is Meedyum which means Medium.

For the second trainer, head back to Santiago, the trainer you battled by the bench. From there, follow the street northwest until you reach the end of the street. Now go northeast past the stairs until you see a tree with a trainer next to it. She is your second clue, so battle her, she will have a level 34 Ursaring (Normal type). After beating her, she will tell you that the clue is a dark spot surrounded by stairs. Go down the stairs next to her, then go to the gate with the dark doorway and interact. You will get the second clue which is Fire Blast.

The third and final clue, is by the sandwich shop. To the east of it, is the next trainer. This one will have a level 34 Gumshoos (Normal type) and a level 34 Greedent (Normal type). After beating her, she will tell you the clue is look for something that's the odd one out at one of the ice cream stands. To the northwest of her, there is an ice cream stand. Talk to the person running it. On the menu you will see Grilled Rice Balls. A bit weird for an ice cream stand don't you think? That is the last menu item.

Now head back to the restaurant and speak to the waiter. For your order you will want to say Grilled Rice Balls, Medium Serving, Extra Crispy, Fire Blast Style, and Lemon. If you answered all that correctly, you will be able to battle the gym leader Larry.

Medali Gym - Larry:

He will have 3 Pokemon. A level 35 Komala (Normal type), a level 35 Dudunsparce (Normal type), and a level 36 Staraptor (Flying/Normal type). Again, use fighting type moves to take care of his team.

Medali Gym - Rewards:

After defeating him, you will of course receive the gym badge and then he will give you TM25 Facade. Now it is time to take on another gym.
