Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Guide: Artazon Gym

Artazon Gym, a grass type gym, will be the second gym you encounter if you are following the recommended order. Again, if you chose Fuecoco as your starter, you should make quick work of this gym.

Artazon Gym - Preparations:

Following our table from the beginning, the recommended level for your Pokémon to be is 17. Since this is a grass type gym, you'll want to use Fire, Flying, Poison, Ice and Bug types. Avoid using Water, Rock, and Ground type Pokémon.

Artazon Gym - Location:

You will want to fly to the South Province Area Three Pokémon Centre near where you took down the Stony Cliff Titan. You should be close to Artazon. Make your way east towards it. As you get to the same area as where you defeated Klawf, on the road you should see a sign with an item next to it. Pick it up, it is a Burn Heal then keep following the road where you'll see an Awakening.

Right past that is a trainer for you to battle. She will have a level 13 Ghastly (Ghost/Poison type) and a level 13 Murkrow (Dark/Flying type). This will be the sixth and last battle you need in order to get the reward from the Pokémon League Rep at the Pokémon Centre you just came from.

Now keep following the path, in the grass you will see another Burn Heal. Then further is another trainer. She will have a level 13 Happiny (Normal type) and a level 8 Drifloon (Ghost/Flying type). Next let's pick up a few more items before heading into Artazon.

Head north down the slope to get a Exp. Candy XS then back south, past the trainer and up the rock to get the Max Ether. Then northeast, there is a Guard Spec., Hyper Potion, and a Poke Doll.

Now let's head into Artazon.

Artazon Gym - Gym Test:

Now you can head to the gym where Nemona will be waiting for you. She will give you some items, then you can speak to the person at the front desk who will tell you about the Gym Test. This one requires you to find some Sunflora hiding in the town.

Head to the Sunflora Lawn, where you can start the test. You will have to gather 10 Sunflora. Talk to the women there to start it. You should be able to find them pretty easily. There are a few right behind you when you are done talking with her. There will be one Sunflora that will run away, so you will have to battle it in order to collect it.

Once you have completed this challenge, you can return to the gym and get ready to take on Brassius.

Artazon Gym - Battle Against Brassius:

Brassius will have 3 Pokemon. A level 16 Petilil (Grass type) and Smoliv (Normal/Grass type), and a level 17 Sudowoodo (Rock type). Sudowoodo, although being a Rock type, will get Terrastallized by Brassius, turning it into a Grass type. Again, Fire, Flying, and Bug types are your best bets here (Poison and Ice are great too but it's unlikely you have any Pokemon of those types at this stage in the game).

Artazon Gym - Rewards:

After defeating Brassius, you will of course get the Gym Badge but also, pokemon up to level 30 will be easier to catch and will listen to your commands a lot more. He will also give you a TM Trailblaze. You will also see a quick interaction with one of the Elite Four from the Pokemon League, Hassel.
