We are getting to the end of the story! This is the final mission from the main story line not including DLC. This mission is only available after having completed Starfall Street, Victory Road, and Path of Legends. Once that is done, you will get a call from Arven telling you about Area Zero and the location will be marked on your map.

The Way Home - Preparations:

The recommended level for this mission is level 64. This means that you can tackle this right after completing the 3 pathways.

The Way Home - Location:

To get there quickly, fly to Medali, then head up the path to the southeast. Climb the mountain using Koraidon/Miraidon and you should reach the starting point. Go inside the gate and then you can travel to where Arven is. As you go in, Penny and Nemona will join you to help you on your mission. The professor will then talk to you and tell you to go down into the Crater.

The Way Home - The Crater:

There will be a cutscene that tells you that you need to use Koraidon/Miraidon to glide down to the bottom. Now when you get down there, you will encounter Pokémon but the ones you encounter will depend on which version of the game you have. This guide will follow Scarlet's version as that is the one that I have. Other than that, the process is the same so you can still follow this guide if you have Violet.

So as the professor explains, you need to go to all 4 labs and unlock access to the Area Zero Lab. The first Lab is Lab 1. Once you make your way there, you will have to fight a level 62 Glimmora (Rock/Poison type). Then go and press the button.

Next up is Lab 2, this one will have a level 62 Scream Tail (Fairy/Psychic type). Once you defeat it, go press the button again. At this point, Arven will give you either the Scarlet or Violet book depending on which version you have.

Now is Lab 3, once you reach it, you have to fight a level 62 Great Tusk/Iron Treads (Ground/Fighting Ground/Steel type). Once again, go ahead and press the button. Note that you can rest and heal your Pokémon at each one of the first 3 Labs.

Now the fourth Lab is destroyed and there won't be any Pokémon for you to fight before you can press the button. Therefore just press it and it will unlock the last gate which means you can now enter the Area Zero Lab.

The Way Home - The Lab:

When you get close to the lab, you will get another call from the Professor. Just go up to the button and press it and the gate will open. Once it's open, Pokemon will come out and you will have to battle them. They are all level 64. Once you defeat them all, it is time to head inside the lab.

Once inside, speak with the Professor and follow them into the lower level. Once down there, you will have to place the book on the pedestal. This will trigger a battle against the Professor.

The Way Home - Battle Against the Professor:

For this battle, you will want to have Pokemon that can use Dragon, Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Grass, and Psychic type moves.

Having Scarlet, I had to battle Professor Sada. She will have a level 66 Slither Wing (Bug/Fighting type), a level 66 Sandy Shocks (Electric/Ground type), a level 66 Scream Tail (Fairy/Psychic type), a level 66 Flutter Mane (Ghost/Fairy type), a level 66 Brute Bonnet (Grass/Dark type), and a level 67 Roaring Moon (Dragon/Dark type).

The Way Home - Paradise Protection Protocol:

After defeating the Professor, there is still one more battle you have to do. You now have to take on Koraidon/Miraidon. You also will not be able to use your Pokemon, you instead have to use your own Koraidon/Miraidon. You can select it from the party menu and select Swap In. Use your Tera Orb whenever you can and once you have won the battle you will see the credits and that is it!! You have successfully beat the main storyline! Congratulations!

You will then be at the Academy after the credits are over and Director Clavell will speak with you before giving you a Master Ball. You will also speak with Geeta and Nemona. Geeta will ask you to inspect all the Gyms which means you will be able to battle them all again.

And that is it for the main story, but there is still plenty to do. Complete the Pokedex, compete in the tournament that Nemona suggested, hunt for some shiny Pokemon, take on the DLC, and more!
