It appears that FaZe Clan is reverting back to its roots. Richard “Banks” Bengston, one of the co-founders, took back control of the organization toward the end of last year. Then, on April 27, he initiated a sweeping overhaul by removing 17 members, something that no one expected.

The official FaZe Clan account had seen no activity on X/Twitter since March 4. However, Banks, in a brief video shared on April 27, announced a significant reset, signaling a fresh start for the collective.

He posted on X/Twitter the new "Roster" that has seen the number of core members reduced by half. Banks said that this was the new roster and that everyone else was out. A Twitch streamer by the name of Logan posted a video letting Banks know that he thinks he made the wrong decision. Banks responded with his own video explaining that this roster change had been a long time coming.

Established in 2010, FaZe Clan originated as a close-knit group of friends sharing gaming experiences online. Over time, it transformed into a prominent esports powerhouse, competing in various gaming tournaments globally. Despite its initial success, FaZe Clan encountered financial challenges the last couple years.

Will this roster change be just the thing that Faze Clan needed? Only time will tell.
