As you have most likely heard, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been and we got our first look into this year's much anticipated title. In this article I will cover everything we know so far about it.
Firstly, here is the reveal trailer for Black Ops 6 if you haven't already watched it:
Price:
First things first lets talk about the most obvious, how much is the game going to cost? Well no surprises here, there are 2 versions of the game, the base version and vault edition. The base comes in at $69.99 while the Vault is going to cost you $99.99.
What does the Vault Edition include you might be thinking, well here it is. You get access to a cross gen bundle of BO6, a Hunters vs Hunted Operator Pack, 4 Operator Skins: Adler, Park, Brutus, and Klaus, 5 Mastercraft Weapons, the Season 1 Blackcell bundle which includes the Season 1 Battlepass, 20 Tier Skips, 1100 CP, and more. And you also get 12 high rarity Gobblegums for zombies.
Game Pass:
This is something entirely new for Call of Duty, but for the first time ever, the new Call of Duty will be available on Xbox Game Pass, this includes the PC game pass. Not only is it going to be on there, it will be available day 1 meaning you will get the play at launch and you will also get access to the early access beta and a Woods Operator Skin.
Zombies:
Zombies is back and more importantly round based zombies. As you can tell from the Vault Edition content, Gobblegums are also back. We will be getting 2 round based zombie maps at launch: Liberty Falls and Terminus. It was apparently specified that there were 2 "round based" zombie maps so could that mean there will be other types of maps? We will have to find out as we get closer to the release date.
Release/Beta:
Speaking of, the game is set to release on October 25th. The Beta dates have not been confirmed yet but based on some information on Twitter, we can expect it around late August to early September.
Campaign:
The story takes place in 1991 after the events of Call of Duty: Cold War which Treyarch are considering as Black Ops 5. Here is a word for word story description: "While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them.”
Multiplayer:
Lot of information to unpack here so lets start with the brand new Omnidirectional movement. With this feature, players will be able to sprint, slide, and dive in any direction. They will also be able to rotate around while in prone.
Many including myself will be glad to hear that the classic Prestige system is back with military ranks for levels 1 to 55 followed by 10 Prestiges. After that is Prestige Master with 1000 levels. This seems to be similar to Black Ops 3. This will be in the game at launch and there will be no seasonal level caps and Prestiges.
Next we have the 3 Perk system with 3 categories of Perks: Enforcer, Recon, and Strategist. You will have 3 perk slots in each loadout and if you select 3 Perks from the same category you will get a Perk Specialty.
Gunsmith system is still in the game. The loadouts layout includes a Primary and Secondary weapon, a dedicated melee, a lethal and tactical, a field upgrade, 3 Perks, a Perk Specialty, and Wildcards. You can have 5 attachments per gun but there is a wildcard that allows you to have 8.
There is a minimal HUD with custom presets. We're also getting traditional scorestreaks, winner's circle, and shooting range. There is also going to be Best Play and not Final Killcam.
There will be 16 MP maps at launch which includes 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps (2v2 or 6v6 maps). The classic 3 lane map design is said to be back. All maps are original maps and not remakes.
Conclusion:
That is all that we know so far, I left out a few minor details but overall this covers all the major points. Are you guys excited for this new Call of Duty? Will you be buying it?
